Welcome to HungerMitao_NorthTexas
The HungerMitao chapter for North Texas Food Bank was formed to raise awareness, improve engagement, as well as channel resources and contributions of the Indian American community toward NTFB’s mission of a hunger-free community.

A critical component of NTFB’s tenet of community engagement, HungerMitao is working to provide food assistance to thousands of food insecure individuals across NTFB’s 13 county service area.  It does that by:
  • Raising hunger-awareness
  • Encouraging active volunteering
  • Conducting food drive campaigns
  • Raising crucial funds

Mission of HungerMitao is as much about eradicating hunger as it is about unifying the fragmented efforts of the Indian American community and focusing it on the humanitarian cause of hunger.

By coming together as an unified Indian American community, we can demonstrate how any place we call home benefits from our presence. We are smart, compassionate change-agents, who bloom where we are planted. While we may never be able to eradicate hunger, let us ensure no one goes hungry – HungerMitao!
About HUNGER MITAO?
HungerMitao is a volunteer-driven grassroots movement focused on raising awareness about hunger in the USA, improving community engagement, as well as channeling resources and contributions of the Indian American community towards fighting hunger through the Feeding America network of food banks. Launched in North Texas in 2017, the movement has enabled more than 30 million meals through Feeding America and food banks in North Texas, Houston, New York City, Atlanta, and Seattle.
