Hunger Mitao Month -
Peanut Butter Drive
an Incredible Success

(August, Indepdence from Hunger Month!)

*Hunger Mitao Week campaign is Indian American Council’s signature campaign, held every year to commemorate India’s Independence Day, August 15, as “Independence from Hunger” day in North Texas.

This summer the Indian American Council aimed to collect 25,000 $/pounds of peanut butter for the North Texas Food Bank by August 31, 2019.

They surpassed this ambitious goal and delivered over $28,000 $/pounds of Peanut Butter!

Peanut butter is a popular shelf stable, protein-rich food always in short supply at food banks. Our collective efforts will have a meaningful impact in our community as we help stock the shelves of local food pantries or fill a child’s backpack for another day.

Kudos Indian American community for your caring generosity!
